JSC AB Bank of China in Kazakhstan was established in April 1993 and, over more than 30 years of development, has evolved into a modern universal commercial bank with strong financial performance, a wide range of services, and a solid business reputation in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Bank is a subsidiary of Bank of China Limited, one of the world’s leading international banks providing a full range of financial services in China and beyond.

The Bank’s head office is located in Almaty, with branches in Astana and Aktobe. The Bank serves both corporate and individual clients, offering deposits, lending, documentary operations and guarantees, foreign exchange services, financial advisory, as well as internet banking services.

In 2013, the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, delivered a speech at Nazarbayev University, where he proposed the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative. This initiative later became a key component of the global Belt and Road Initiative, in which Kazakhstan plays an important role.

Within the framework of this initiative, the Bank actively expands its RMB settlement services, provides international financial services, and delivers comprehensive client solutions. In 2021–2025, the Bank was awarded the title “Best Bank in Kazakhstan for RMB Clearing.”
